Job SUMMARY: Provide administrative support to the special education and business office departments, ensuring compliance with Medicaid regulations and facilitating smooth communication among various stakeholders. The Medicaid Billing Specialist assists providers in securing and maintaining their National Provider Identifier, maintaining accurate records, improving processes, and facilitating communication among stakeholders.
Qualifications:
? High school diploma or equivalent
? Prior experience in administrative support roles, preferably in the school setting
? Familiarity with Medicaid policies, procedures, and regulations is desirable
? Proficiency in using office software such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and database management systems
? Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact professionally with diverse individuals
? Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
? Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
? Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and the capacity to work independently as well as part of a team
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
? Oversee the school district’s school-based Medicaid programs
? Stay informed about changes in Medicaid policies, regulations, and procedures, and ensure compliance with all relevant Medicaid regulations and policies
? Oversee the following components of Medicaid Administrative Claiming: random moment time study, claim process and tracking, and reporting requirements
? Maintain accurate Medicaid records, including consents, authorizations, and other relevant documents
? Generate reports related to Medicaid billing and program performance
? Confirm student eligibility, parent consent, and Medicaid authorization
? Coordinate the required provider compliance information, including securing and maintaining the National Provider Identifier and updating license information
? Update medicaid portals by enrolling new providers and removing providers who have resigned
? Coordinate with Medicaid providers to verify Medicaid coverage, resolve billing inquiries, and facilitate payments
? Prepare and submit reports to Medicaid authorities
? Review Medicaid reports to ensure maximum revenue
? Work with the Executive Director of Special Education and the Medicaid Program Manager to establish procedures to meet policy requirements
? Conduct audits and quality assurance reviews
? Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless integration of Medicaid services into overall organizational operations
? Participate in training sessions and professional development activities to stay informed about changes in Medicaid policies, regulations, and procedures, and ensure compliance with all relevant guidelines
? Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors to support the efficient functioning of the Medicaid department

$22.72 - $28.21 / Hour
