Evaluation: Annual written evaluation by Warehouse Manager and Director of Child Nutrition

Job Summary
Under the direction of the Director of Child Nutrition Services or designee, the Driver performs duties related to the shipping, receiving, storage, rotation, and delivery of food service supplies and equipment. This position ensures accurate inventory practices, maintains delivery records, and safely operates district vehicles to transport items between the central warehouse and school sites.

Qualifications
·        High school diploma or equivalent

·        Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record

·        Ability to regularly lift and move up to 60 pounds

·        Basic math skills and ability to follow written and verbal instructions

·        Ability to operate a computer terminal

·        Warehouse experience preferred

·        Forklift certification may be required

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
·        Electronically order and distribute milk to all schools

·        Operate an insulated truck to transport crates of milk and food items to school sites

·        Pull, load, deliver, and unload food orders and supplies; return empty crates to the warehouse

·        Start early morning shifts as required (milk deliveries begin at 4:00 AM)

·        Deliver equipment, supplies, laundry, receipts, and other items as assigned

·        Maintain cleanliness and safety of assigned district vehicles, including fueling and fluid checks

·        Follow all HACCP procedures in handling food and supplies

·        Assist in organizing and cleaning the warehouse, including dry storage and freezer areas

·        Support inventory management and help stock groceries and supplies

·        Perform other duties as assigned by the Manager

Work Environment & Physical Demands
·        Frequent standing, walking, sitting, kneeling, bending, squatting, and reaching

·        Ability to lift and transport heavy items (up to 60 pounds)

·        Requires hearing and visual acuity to communicate clearly and effectively

·        May work in environments with temperature extremes (refrigerated/freezer areas, outdoor conditions)

·        Exposure to potential risks such as injury or illness is possible
