Job Description:

Bismarck Public Schools is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Assistant Gymnastics Coach to support the district’s three high schools—Bismarck High School, Century High School, and Legacy High School. The Assistant Coach will collaborate with the Head Coach and program staff to help student-athletes develop skills, teamwork, and a positive competitive spirit while upholding the values of BPS and the North Dakota High School Activities Association (NDHSAA).

Responsibilities
Assist the Head Coach in planning, organizing, and conducting gymnastics practices and competitions.
Work with student-athletes across all three BPS high schools, providing instruction in proper techniques, conditioning, and safety.
Support the development of athletes at all skill levels, fostering confidence, discipline, and teamwork.
Help monitor academic progress, eligibility, and overall well-being of athletes.
Promote good sportsmanship, respect, and positive representation of Bismarck Public Schools.
Maintain equipment and assist with practice/meet set-up and tear-down.
Assist with transportation logistics, communication with families, and coordination among schools.
Perform additional duties as assigned by the Head Coach or Activities Director.

Qualifications
Prior gymnastics coaching or competitive gymnastics experience preferred.
Strong knowledge of gymnastics techniques, rules, and safety practices.
Ability to work collaboratively with coaches, staff, and student-athletes from multiple schools.
Effective communication and leadership skills.
Must meet all Bismarck Public Schools and NDHSAA coaching certification requirements, including First Aid/CPR training.
Commitment to the mission, values, and policies of Bismarck Public Schools.

Reports to: Head Gymnastics Coach & BPS Activities Director
Schedule: Seasonal; practices and competitions as determined by the program schedule

Please note - Coaches who hold an ND teaching license - wages are reportable to the North Dakota Teacher's Fund for Retirement (TFFR).  The employee (coach) will contribute 11.75% of their salary and the District will contribute 12.75%.

Job Requirements
High School/Trade School degree preferred.
Citizenship, residency or work visa required

Compensation: Per BPS extracurricular salary schedule

Salary: $4,930 to $6,656 Per Year
