Job Description:
Starkweather Public School is seeking a qualified and certified part-time (full time if qualified for other areas of need) 7-12 social studies teacher for the 2026-2027 school year and beyond. Our school values individualized attention, creativity, and a supportive learning environment. With a student body of approximately seventy students grades K-12, you'll have the opportunity to truly make a difference and foster meaningful connections. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to nurturing young minds, fostering a love for learning, and creating a positive and engaging classroom environment.
Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons that cater to the diverse needs of students in grades 7-12.
- Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment where students feel valued and encouraged to reach their full potential.
- Develop and implement creative and innovative teaching strategies to inspire curiosity and critical thinking.
- Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and administrators to support student learning and development.
- Assess student progress and provide timely feedback to support growth and achievement.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and stay current with educational trends and best practices.

DOE; Base Salary $55,500. Benefits include ten days sick leave, five personal days, retirement, full single health, and life insurance.
