Job Description:

The Elementary School Teacher is responsible for creating a positive, engaging, and inclusive classroom environment that supports the academic, social, and emotional development of students. The teacher will design and deliver instruction aligned with curriculum standards, assess student progress, and collaborate with staff and families to promote student success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver effective, age-appropriate lessons in core subjects such as reading, writing, mathematics, science, and social studies
  • Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with state standards and school curriculum
  • Create a safe, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment
  • Assess and monitor student progress through formal and informal evaluations
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of learners
  • Manage classroom behavior using positive discipline strategies
  • Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress and classroom activities
  • Collaborate with colleagues, support staff, and administrators to enhance instructional practices
  • Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and school events
  • Integrate technology and instructional resources to enhance learning
  • Encourage students’ social, emotional, and critical thinking skills

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education or related field
  • Valid state teaching certification for elementary education
  • Knowledge of child development and instructional best practices
