Job Description:
THE POSITION: Hope-Page Public School is looking to continue to grow our Family & Consumer Sciences program and enhance youth leadership through an FCCLA Program. We offer a competitive benefit package including health, both sides of TFFR paid by employer, dental/vision, flex spending account, and 403b retirement plans. Coaching and advisory roles in our extra-curricular activities are also available.
THE DISTRICT: Our district currently has nearly 180 kids enrolled PreK-12. Our current facilities are set up as the elementary school is located in Page and the junior high-high school is located in Hope (approx. 13 miles apart). We currently enjoy a positive, strong working relationship with approx. 45 full- and part-time staff members. We are fortunate to have a very active and supportive parent group. Students are offered just about anything they are excited about in our small district and we are proud of that. A few of those offerings include: numerous extracurricular activities, 1:1 with technology, dual credit/online courses, and an established CTE program with widespread community support.
OUR COMMUNITY: Home of the Raiders- we are located in Steele and Cass counties in rural,
farming communities. We are home to numerous businesses including Hope Electric, EEE Inc,, Warrior Mfg., two local elevators, two great grocery stores, and multiple banks. We are
wonderful, safe communities that offer many recreational opportunities including golfing,
swimming, and parks and are located less than an hour from Fargo.
THE QUALIFICATIONS: Must have bachelor’s degree in family and consumer sciences education or related field. Must also have or be willing to obtain a ND Teacher’s License from the ND Educations Standards and Practices Board and meet requirements set by the Department of Public Instruction.
TEACHER QUALITIES:
• Must have ability to develop relationship with students
• Must be able to teach essential life skills including culinary arts/food science, child
development, interior design, and textiles.
• Must be able to foster critical thinking and career readiness skills (FCCLA involvement
often included)
• Must have knowledge of students social and emotional development
• Must be able to facilitate engaging, active learning through cooking labs and practical
projects.
• Must be dedicated to continual professional improvement
• Must be organized and committed to putting students first
