Education Requirements
High school diploma or GED required.

Qualifications
Basic knowledge of building maintenance practices and repair techniques.

Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, equipment, and district vehicles.

Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions.

Strong problem‑solving and troubleshooting skills.

Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently with limited supervision.

Effective communication and customer service skills.

Basic computer skills preferred.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
General Maintenance

Perform routine building maintenance and minor repairs.

Assist with preventative maintenance on building systems and equipment.

Complete work orders promptly and professionally.

Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas safely and neatly.

Assist with setup/teardown for school and district events.

Identify and report safety concerns and facility issues.

Building & Equipment Support

Perform basic repairs: plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, flooring, doors, hardware, locks.

Replace bulbs, ceiling tiles, filters, and other routine components.

Assist with snow removal, sanding, salting, and grounds maintenance.

Operate maintenance equipment and district vehicles safely.

Support skilled trades personnel with larger projects.

Safety & Compliance

Follow district safety procedures and regulations.

Maintain compliance with OSHA and other safety standards.

Respond appropriately to emergency maintenance situations.

Maintain positive, professional relationships with staff, students, and the public.

Work Environment & Physical Demands
Frequent sitting, walking, and standing.

Lift up to 60 lbs occasionally.

Ability to reach, walk, carry, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, sit, crawl.

Must be able to hear and see clearly for effective communication.

Must maintain mental capacity for effective interaction.

Work may involve temperature extremes and some exposure to injury or illness risk.

Terms of Employment
Twelve‑month position.

Evaluation
Performance evaluated by the Maintenance Supervisor.
