Education

Job Summary
The HR Generalist is a key member of the HR team, primarily responsible for **employee benefits administration** and **leave management**, while also supporting recruitment, employee relations, and other HR functions. The role requires strong organization, service orientation, and the ability to manage complex employee processes.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Benefits Administration
- Administer health, dental, vision, life, and supplemental benefit plans.
- Serve as primary contact for benefit questions, enrollment, and eligibility.
- Coordinate annual open enrollment.
- Liaise with carriers and third‑party administrators.
- Maintain accurate benefit records and reporting.
- Support ACA compliance and data tracking.
Leave Administration
- Manage all employee leave programs (FMLA, sick, personal, statutory, district‑specific).
- Track, approve, and document leave requests.
- Communicate eligibility, requirements, and return‑to‑work processes.
- Ensure compliance with FMLA regulations.
- Maintain accurate leave records in HRIS.
Recruitment & Staffing Support
- Assist with job postings, applicant screening, and interview coordination.
- Support hiring managers through recruitment and onboarding.
- Participate in job fairs and recruitment initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with hiring procedures and documentation.
Employee Relations Support
- Provide front‑line HR support for employee questions.
- Assist with documentation and investigation support.
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
- Support HR Director with disciplinary documentation and performance processes.
HR Generalist / Backup Leadership Duties
- Serve as acting HR lead when HR Director is absent.
- Provide guidance on HR policies and procedures.
- Assist with policy development and HR initiatives.
- Support HR projects, reporting, and continuous improvement.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- May provide informal guidance or training to HR support staff or interns.
Work Environment & Physical Demands
- Frequent sitting, walking, and standing.
- Occasional lifting up to 60 lbs.
- Ability to perform various physical movements (reach, bend, kneel, crouch, etc.).
- Must be able to hear, see, and communicate effectively.
- Office‑based with occasional district travel.
- Prolonged periods of sitting.
Terms of Employment
- Twelve‑month position.
Evaluation
- Annual written evaluation by the Human Resources Director.
Base Pay: $60,652 – $75,192 per year
