Job Description:

Jamestown Public School District has an opening for Head Maintenance at Jamestown High School. 

This is a full-time position working 12 months a year.

SUMMARY:
The High School Head Maintenance position is responsible for coordinating building-level maintenance operations to ensure the safe, efficient operation of facility systems, equipment, and grounds at the high school. This role performs preventive maintenance, minor repairs, equipment monitoring, and custodial coordination while supporting the Director of Maintenance in maintaining safe and functional facilities.

QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training in building maintenance or related field preferred.
Working knowledge of HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical systems, building automation systems, and general building maintenance.
Ability to lift and move 50 pounds or more on a regular basis.
Ability to operate maintenance equipment including skid steer, lifts, and related machinery.
Effective communication and organizational skills.
Ability to respond to emergency situations and be on call as needed.
Valid driver's license required.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Facility & Equipment Maintenance
Maintain building inspection schedules and conduct routine facility checks.
Perform minor repairs in electrical, plumbing, carpentry, heating, cooling, and general building systems.
Monitor environmental control systems, heat pumps, heat recovery units, generators, refrigeration units, and other building equipment; report concerns and coordinate repairs as needed.
Perform maintenance of kitchen equipment, air handler filters, and other operational systems.
Operate scissor lifts and related equipment to perform building maintenance tasks.

Grounds, Pool & Equipment Maintenance
Maintain grounds immediately surrounding the building, including snow removal, mowing, and related tasks.
Perform minor maintenance and repairs on lawn equipment, snow removal equipment, and maintenance tools.
Maintain and monitor swimming pool systems, including daily chemical usage logs, water quality monitoring, and submission of required testing samples.

Inventory, Documentation & Supplies
Maintain maintenance parts inventory, custodial supply inventory, and paint inventory.
Assist with ordering maintenance supplies and equipment.
Maintain required building maintenance documentation, including safety equipment records, fire monitoring systems, and related compliance records.

Coordination, Training & Support
Report operational concerns to the Director of Maintenance.
Participate in interviews for high school custodial positions as requested.
Collaborate with contractors and district maintenance staff on building repairs, summer projects, and facility improvements.

Safety, Compliance & General Duties
Ensure fire extinguishers and fire monitoring systems are inspected and functioning properly.
Monitor building safety systems including gas shutoffs and emergency equipment.
Oversee building recycling program.
Prepare annual building summer maintenance project lists.

Other Responsibilities
Remain on call for emergencies, alarms, and facility issues as required.
Perform weekend facility checks and other assigned building inspections as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Maintenance, Principal, or Activities Director.



Other:

The starting wage for this position is $20.63/hour to $21.33/hour, depending on experience.
