Job Description:

JOB GOAL:

 

The Family and Consumer Sciences (FACS) Educator creates an engaging, nurturing, and safe learning environment that allows learners to develop their physical, social, and emotional wellbeing; providing instruction in FACS, future ready skills, knowledge, and dispositions to be compassionate, lifelong-learners, and contributing citizens in a rapidly changing world.

 

The FACS Educator provides learners with academic skills and practical hands-on experiences in Career Clusters related to Human Services, Hospitality, Visual Arts, and Education. The Program of Study includes classroom and lab instruction related to independent living, family living, health, early childhood education, child development, nutrition, food sciences, clothing, and housing visual arts, culinary, and teacher training. Course content may lead to marketable job skills or post-secondary training in a related career field. The teacher will work together with current FACS Educators, in respective buildings, to implement established course curriculums aligned to ND CTE Standards, district goals, and course experiences.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution

Valid North Dakota Teaching License with appropriate accreditation to teach FACS

 

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Teach FACS classes for grades 7-12.

Maintain appropriate licenses and training hours as required.

Comply with applicable District, state, local and federal laws, rules and regulations.

Focus on making learning visible through effective student engagement.

Work cooperatively with other team members to improve the instructional program.

Effectively use computer and technology to support effective instruction and student learning.

Evaluate and differentiate student progress and adapt individual programs to meet student needs.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

 

This position constitutes a certified position with the Stanley Community Public School District.

Salary Range -$46,500.00 / Per Year

Shift Type -Full-Time

SALARY AND BENEFITS:

Base Salary: $46,500

Fringe Benefit: $12,272

Personal Days: 3 per year (accumulate up to 6)

Sick Days: 10 per year (accumulate up to 180)
