Job Description:

Head Middle School Cheerleading Coach

 

Summary:

The head middle school cheerleading coach is responsible for coaching student athletes in competitive cheerleading techniques to prepare them for events or competition. Position motivates student athletes to develop an appreciation of the sport.

 

Responsibilities:

Works with cheerleaders during practices and meets.

Holds organizational meetings for team prospects and encourages students to participate.

Assesses skills and assigns team positions.

Develops a regular practice schedule and organizes practice time to provide both individual and team

development.

Works with the athletics director in scheduling facilities for practices and competition.

Coaches and instructs cheerleaders, individually or in groups, regarding the rules, regulations, equipment, and

techniques of the sport.

Observes cheerleaders, during events and practice to determine the needs for individual or team improvement.

Establishes and maintains standards of pupil behavior and provides proper supervision of students at all times.

Monitors the academic performance of team members to ensure that eligibility requirements are met.

Follows established procedures in the event of an injury.

Follows state, regional, and district regulations governing the program.

Models sports-like behavior and maintains appropriate conduct towards cheerleaders, officials, and spectators.

Follows established procedures for supplies and uniforms.

Models nondiscriminatory practices in all activities.

Qualifications:

Some experience as a competitive Cheerleader at the high school or college level preferred. Must possess effective coaching techniques and skills. Must possess a thorough knowledge of the rules, regulations, strategies, and techniques of the sport. Must possess the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with school administrators, parents, and students.

 

Contract Dates: Football Season – August 22 – October 12, 2024

Girls’ Basketball Season – October 21 – December 114, 2024

Boys’ Basketball Season – January 2 – February 22, 2025

 

Salary (DOE): Football Season - $1,937 - $2,152

Girls’ Basketball Season - $1,937 - $2,152

Boys’ Basketball Season - $1,937 - $2,152
