Job Description:

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to join our team as a High School Assistant Volleyball Coach. The assistant coach will work closely with the head coach to provide guidance, instruction, and support to student-athletes in developing their volleyball skills and fostering team camaraderie. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to the growth and success of our high school volleyball program.

Responsibilities:

1. Assist the head coach in planning and organizing practice sessions that focus on skill development, strategy, and teamwork.

2. Provide individualized instruction to players to enhance their technical skills, including serving, passing, setting, hitting, and blocking.

3. Support the head coach in evaluating player performance during practices and games to identify areas for improvement and development.

4. Assist with the implementation of game strategies and tactics during matches, including in-game adjustments and player substitutions.

5. Foster a positive and supportive team environment that promotes sportsmanship, discipline, and mutual respect among players.

6. Collaborate with the head coach and other coaching staff to coordinate team logistics, such as scheduling, equipment management, and travel arrangements.

7. Serve as a role model for student-athletes by demonstrating professionalism, integrity, and a commitment to excellence both on and off the court.

8. Assist in recruiting and retaining talented student-athletes for the volleyball program, including attending recruiting events and communicating with prospective players and their families.

9. Provide guidance and mentorship to student-athletes to support their academic success, personal growth, and character development.

10. Perform other duties as assigned by the head coach or athletic director to contribute to the overall success of the volleyball program and athletic department.

Qualifications:

1. Previous experience playing or coaching volleyball at the high school level or higher.

2. Strong knowledge of volleyball rules, techniques, and strategies.

3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively motivate and inspire student-athletes.

4. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as part of a coaching team and interact positively with players, parents, school administrators, and other stakeholders.

5. Commitment to upholding the values of sportsmanship, fair play, and integrity in all aspects of coaching and competition.

6. Availability to attend practices, games, and team events during the volleyball season, including evenings and weekends.

7. Completion of required certifications and training courses, including CPR/AED certification and relevant coaching certifications (if applicable).

Please note - Coaches who hold a ND teaching license - wages are reportable to the North Dakota Teacher's Fund for Retirement (TFFR).  The employee (coach) will contribute 11.75% of their salary and the District will contribute 12.75%

Salary Range -$4,561.00 - $6,813.00 / Per Year
