Job Description:
Working in cooperation with appropriate unit supervisors, district supervisors, teachers, parents and students, shall be responsible for providing diagnostic and intervention services for students with speech, language and communication disorders.
Essential functions of the job may include but are not limited to the following:
· Participate as a member of the multidisciplinary team in the schools/districts to which assigned.
· Participate in IEP meetings.
· Provide services for students with difficulties in the areas of language, voice, fluency, and articulation.
· Provide screenings for students with possible speech and language deficits impacting their access to general curriculum.
· Assess children referred for Special Education evaluation.
· Complete written evaluations with specific goals and objectives for each student identified with speech/language needs.
· Provide direct and consultative services to students identified with speech/language needs.
· Program planning and implementation.
· Collaborate with teachers and paraprofessionals.
· Communicate with parents regarding their children’s speech/language program.
· Supervision of Speech-Language Pathologist Assistants, Graduate students and Clinical Fellowships, as needed.
· Collect data on students’ progress.
Master's Degree in Speech Language Pathology and one of the following (or the ability to obtain):
· License to practice Speech-Language Pathology in the state of North Dakota
· North Dakota Teacher's License
Travel may be required within a 45-mile range.
