Job Description: Special Education Paraprofessional
Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Paraprofessional to provide support and assistance to students with special needs within our educational institution. As a paraprofessional, you will work closely with special education teachers and other professionals to implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and create an inclusive and supportive learning environment for students. Your role will be crucial in helping students with disabilities reach their full potential academically, socially, and emotionally.
Responsibilities:

  1. Assist with Individualized Education Plans (IEPs):
  2. Student Support and Instruction:
  3. Personal Care and Physical Support:
  4. Communication and Collaboration:

 
Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience working with individuals with special needs or in an educational setting is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of special education practices, principles, and techniques.
  • Familiarity with assistive technology and adaptive equipment used by students with disabilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with students, colleagues, and parents.
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to remain calm in challenging situations.
  • Physical stamina and the ability to lift or support students with mobility needs.
  • Willingness to undergo background checks and other required screenings as per local regulations.
