Job Description:

Elementary Library Media Specialist

2024-2025 School year; 186 contract days, 100% FTE

Location: Mandan Public School District

Salary: Starting $53,800 for Bachelors degree; starting $55,322 for Master's degree. Full benefit package included.

Position Summary:

The elementary library media specialist promotes, supports and encourages literacy; maintains library collection and controlling audio-visual equipment at the school site(s); assists students, staff and community in utilizing library resources; performs clerical functions related to collection, processing, circulation, maintenance, and inventory of library and curriculum materials.

Implement library/technology programs based on district plans.

Promote information literacy, reading development, and literature appreciation for students.

Supervise operation and maintenance of school library.

Plan library activities to best serve staff and students.

Keep current on library technology services.

Perform other duties as assigned.

 building principal

Qualifications:

Must hold appropriate license from the ND Education Standards and Practices Board and Library Media Specialist Credential or present a plan of study towards completion of endorsement.
